ADA Hispanic Health Fair

Today, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the ADA Hispanic Health Fair with other Texas Tech students and faculty. We were responsible for cholesterol screenings, and we had a ton of people show up at our booth! It was pretty hectic because each test took ~5 minutes, so the lines were long! We had 7 machines, but that didn't seem to be enough. The fair was a huge success! Inside the gym, there were blood glucose and blood pressure screenings, along with the cholesterol screenings and a height/weight/BMI group. Outside, there were tons of vendors, a stage with local performers, and an immunization booth. It was a lot of fun to help out in the community!
