Maternity Pictures by Jenny Myers

My good friend, Trina, recently had some maternity pics taken by her friend, Jenny. Trina's pics turned out adorable (click here to see some of them), and it really inspired me to think about capturing this part of our life. Jenny is an aspiring photographer and has wanted to work on her portfolio, so she told Trina that she would be willing to take pics for some of her pregnant friends (as mentioned in the last post, there are a lot of us!) Anyway, I decided to take her up on this great offer! I was so impressed with Jenny's artistic abilities, and we were really happy with the way they turned out. I am so glad that we decided to do these. Thank you Jenny (and Trina for the recommendation)!

Hot mamas!

God has always been faithful about providing Jason and I with great friends, no matter where we have lived. The same can be said for our friends in Wichita. Right after we moved here, we became involved with a church that we really enjoy...Eastside Community Church. We immediately joined a LifeGroup (i.e. bible study group) and have made some lifelong friends. Amazingly, this group has been a HUGE support to us throughout our pregnancy. Why you ask? Because almost all of them are pregnant too!! It has been so much fun finding out big news from each of the girls, including the fact that they are pregnant, how doctor's visits have been going, what they're having (or if it's a surprise), etc. It will be fun when all of our little ones have arrived and they can all play together!

Below is a picture of all of the girls in our group (it was a rare occasion to have every one there one night). Mikah, the girl on the far left, already has 2 children and isn't currently pregnant; however, the rest of us are! Mikah has graciously offered to watch Ian on Thursdays and Fridays when I go back to work, so it is comforting to know that he'll be in "experienced" hands.
Here are the rest of us in order of our due dates: Trina (due in August), me (due in September), Erin (due in November), Meg (due in December), and Shelby (due in February)
Now for the exciting part...Trina had her baby early this morning! (2:24am to be exact) They were holding out for the surprise, so we didn't know what she would be having. It was a boy!!! We are planning to go and visit them in the hospital this evening and I can't wait to meet him. He's pretty precious from the pics!
Here is a pic of Trina and her hubby, Trevor, a few weeks ago. Congrats you two!

You know what this means????? I'm NEXT!!!! Yikes!!!!

Wichita Baby Shower

Last Saturday, I was blessed to have a baby shower with my friends here in Wichita! It was at Yia Yia's Eurobistro, which is a yummy Mediterranean-style restaurant. So much thought was put into all of the little details, and we had a great time.

Here is a pic of Janet, Jackie, and Valerie (all work with me at the VA).
This is an AMAZINGLY ADORABLE doggy riding a diaper motorcycle. I have never seen anything like this before! I was really impressed!
Yummy cupcakes...Strawberry Shortcake and Snickers :)

Some of the girls from our bible study. Erin and Meg are 2 out of the 5 girls in our bible study that are preggo! Mikah has 2 children already and will be watching baby Ian on Thursdays and Fridays once I go back to work. We are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group. L to R: Erin, Meg, and Mikah
One of the games involved changing a diaper on a "baby" while wearing oven mitts. I had the slowest time! Uh oh!
Soon-to-be momma, Trina, was much faster than I was (she's had a few more weeks to practice..haha!). Mikah ended up winning the game. I guess that's what being a mommy of 2 gets ya!

I love seeing his name in print :)

More baby fun!

So much has happened over the past few weeks, I can't even keep up! I wanted to keep all of our pre-baby events and festivities in chronological order on my blog, so I've been waiting to get pics from some of my friends. Now that I have them, I should be able to start updating more frequently to get caught up! However, before I back up, I just have to say that things are going well right now. I am 35 weeks today and have 35 days to go!

July 28th was an extra-special day at work. Some of my co-workers threw us a surprise baby shower over lunch! Apparently it was only a surprise to me because Jason knew about it and came to help celebrate. The breakroom in the VA pharmacy was decorated really cute, and all of the details were so sweet.
The cake was huge and so yummy! It even had little "OUs" on the corners, which was probably hard to do in KU/K State territory.

My co-worker, Cindy, made this adorable sports-themed diaper cake for Ian, complete with a handmade OU flag!
We were blessed with several gifts, including bath items and clothes. Jason seemed to really like this one :) -- it says "Wow! All the ladies are checking me out!"
We had such a great time and were so overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of all of my co-workers. I really do love the VA and all of people that I'm surrounded with everyday.

Norman Baby Shower

Satruday, July 24th was our baby shower in Norman. My sisters-in-law, Heather and Kellie, did an amazing job with every little detail!! (Unfortunately, I didn't even get a picture when them). The theme was a suprise...a "Jungle Animal" theme! Here are a few pics:

Heather and Kellie made the cupcakes....they were so cute and tasty!

Blanket made by Jason's foster brother's wife, Kari...so perfect!

Eme (daughter of our friends, Chad and Ali) helped open presents.

OU diaper cake from Kellie...BOOMER SOONER!

Our niece, Eden, won one of the games!

Several of our friends from Texas came up for the shower
