Pregnancy Update

I made it to the third trimester!! Tomorrow, I will be 29 weeks along...only 11 more to go!! Here are some pics from the past few weeks.
As a "father-to-be," we celebrated Jason's first Father's Day. Here he is with "his" gifts! ;-) This is an adorable hamper/toy chest that my mom found for Ian's room. I love it and it goes perfectly with the decor!

I found these cute wall hangings at Hobby Lobby. I was going to paint something for above the crib, but I just couldn't pass these up!

I wanted to be able to display the quilt that came with the bedding, so we decided to hang it on the wall! My sister-in-law did this with our niece's quilt, and I thought it was a great idea. We found the cute quilt clips online through Little Elephant Company. They have tons of cute clips for any interested mommies-to-be!

I was able to see my close friend from pharmacy school, Alicia, this past weekend. She is due 1 month after me! She's having a boy too (although this is her second :)!

Here is a preggo pic from today...pretty much 29 weeks!

Random Updates and Fun Week Ahead...

Well, Jason is gone this weekend and has the laptop, so this will be a "picture-free" post; however, I wanted to give a few updates!

1) Glucose Tolerace Test - I had this test on 6/9/10 and was told that I'd hear from my doctor if anything was abnormal. It's been nearly 2 weeks, and I haven't heard anything! Hopefully that means I passed!

2) Baby Bump? Finally? - Friday was the first time that somebody at work (that didn't know I was pregnant), stopped me in the hall and said, "Are you expecting?" I guess it's probably about time since I'm pretty much starting the third trimester! :)

3) Jason's Job - Jason finished his first "official" week at his new job! He's working at Wichita Children's Home and LOVES it so far! We are so blessed that this opportunity came available at just the right time.

4) 3D/4D Ultrasound - At first, I was "anti-paying-for-a-3D-ultrasound," but I ended up giving in. Since my doctor only does one ultrasound around 18-20 weeks (unless something is wrong), I started wishing that we could see little Ian again! We decided to pay and have the US done, so we have an appt on Tuesday afternoon. I am excited to see him! Hopefully they will get some good pics. :)

5) Michael Buble Concert - Next Wednesday (6/23) marks the date of something that Jason and I have been looking forward to for a long time...Michael Buble is coming to Wichita! We first saw him in Grand Prairie when we lived in the Dallas area. Jason got me tickets for my birthday and I was super-excited. Unfortunately, that same night I started getting flu symptoms. I was miserable the entire time, and I couldn't really enjoy the concert. :( Since that concert, Jason has become a huge fan also. We spend many trips to Oklahoma singing along to his CD in the car. I'm pretty sure that Jason knows more of the words than I do! I told him that he has to let Michael sing his own songs on Wednesday. :)

6) Next Weekend - Jason will be going to Dallas for for a fishing weekend with our brother-in-law. He had this planned before getting hired for his new job, so they were really nice about letting him take the time off. I am going to Oklahoma for a bridal shower for my friend, Katie. We went to pharmacy school together at OU, but really became close friends when she became one of my co-residents at the Dallas VA during my second year of residency. She's getting married in late August, so I'm not sure if I'll make the wedding or not since it's close to our due date. It will be fun to see her this weekend though!

Okay...that's about it for now! We have been getting more and more things done around the house in preparation for little Ian's arrival. I also got some adorable wall hangings for the nursery, but I haven't taken pics yet. I'll probably post nursery pics when I have it done.
Until next time...

Audrey's 2nd Birthday and Amber's Shower

Last weekend was another busy one! We went to Tulsa to celebrate Audrey's 2nd Birthday and Amber's Baby Shower! (Audrey is the daughter of my best friend and college roommate, Amber). The birthday party was held at a really nice park and the theme was "Barnyard Animals." Amber's husband, Kurtis, made this adorable pig cake! We also got the opportunity to see one of my close friends from pharmacy school, Brittan, and the rest of her family. Here is a picture of Jason holding her little girl...she's almost one!
Unfortunately, Audrey was a little tired and wasn't too excited about the festivities. She spent a majority of the time taking a nap. It's her party and she can cry if she wants to!

Here is a pic of Brittan and I - windblown!

After the fun at the park, we headed back to Amber's house. All of the kids got to play even more and Audrey opened her birthday presents. She got lots of goodies!

Just when you think that we were finished with a day full of fun, we had Amber's Baby Shower at a cute little place in Tulsa called Cosi. It is kind of similar to Panera Bread and we were able to reserve an area in the back of the restaurant. It was a small, intimate shower with a few close family and friends, but it was relaxing for Amber after a busy day of birthday activities.
The theme was "Monkeys" since Amber is planning to decorate her soon-to-be-son, Lawson's, room in monkeys. Here are few pics of the decorations. The cupcakes were from a little boutique in Tulsa called Kupcakz. They were called "Cheeky Monkey," which was banana cupcakes with caramel frosting, and chocolate, nuts, and caramel on top. They were delicious!

Amber around 30 weeks pregnant - due August 25th! I'm so excited that she's having a little boy also! Hopefully our sons can be great friends like Amber and I have been!

It was such a busy day, but we had a great time! My cousin, Scott, and his wife, Ashley, were kind enough to let us stay with them in Coweta (little town outside of Tulsa). It was fun to see them also!

Melvin's 90th Birthday Party

We had a great time this past weekend! It was my Great Uncle Melvin's 90th birthday, and my aunt Joan and uncle Barry had a party at their home. It was an awesome turnout, with about 30 people that attended. It was nice to see our extended family. This picture below is Melvin's sister (Elsie Mae), my mom (blue shirt), and her cousins Linda (pink) and Michelle (dots). It was so special to watch Uncle Melvin blow out the candles on his 90th birthday cake.

Melvin and his sister, Elsie Mae. My grandpa Harold was their brother, but he passed away a few years ago.
It's not often that we can get a family pic!!

My cousin, Scott, and Jason
My cousin, Stacey, and her daughter, Makenzie. We got to celebrate her 2nd birthday.
There was even more excitement...here is my uncle Barry opening his Father's Day gift from my cousin, Scott, and his wife, Ashley. What is it??? It's a calendar...announcing that...
They are expecting a little one in January 2011!!

We had such a fun time! There were so many things to celebrate and it was nice to get in the pool for the first time this summer. We definitely need to do this more often!

Memorial Weekend

We had a fun, but BUSY time this past Memorial Weekend! The "main event" was my brother's graduation from Medical School, but we did a LOT of other things as well. My brother, Alan, got engaged last Tuesday, so my mom invited us down to Oklahoma City on Friday evening for a celebration dinner. It was at a really neat restaurant in the Paseo District in OKC -- Paseo Grill! The decor and food were awesome! We were there with Alan and Carrie, my mom and stepdad, and my brother, Grant, and his girlfriend, Abbey. We had a great time hearing the proposal story and watching Alan and Carrie open engagement and graduation gifts. Grant and Abbey

Yummy OU Cake - Congrats and Boomer Sooner!
Saturday was the big graduation day! The event was held at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Since my dad is also a physician (and OU College of Medicine grad), he had the privilage of being able to "hood" my brother during the ceremony. Carrie's dad is also a doctor, so he was able to hood her also! It was pretty neat!

My aunt, uncle, and cousins were in Oklahoma for the holiday weekend, and they had the opportunity to come to the graduation also! It was great to see them. Here is a pic of Jason and I with my cousins, Lianne and Andrea (aren't they beautiful girls?!)

After a graduation lunch at Pearl's Crabtown in Bricktown with my family and Carrie's family, we headed back home to Wichita. The next day (Sunday), we caught a ride with my dad and stepmom up to Kansas City. Alan and Carrie are both doing their medical residencies in Kansas City, so it was time to move into their new apartment. It is in a historic district hear Hyde Park and the Plaza (a great shopping/dining area), so they will be living in the perfect location. Their "apartment" is gorgeous!! (I put that word in quotes because it's almost as big as our house!) It is an old building that was beautifully renovated.
Here is the kitchen - I love the appliances and cabinets!
Look at the crown molding, built-in bookcases, hardwood floors, and beautiful fireplace!

Here is the sunroom - So inviting for afternoon catnaps! :)

Master bathroom - Isn't this tub/shower combo awesome?

Here is the nice 2-car garage
View of their building from the street - there are 2 units in this building. Alan and Carrie have the entire downstairs!
After helping them unload some furniture and boxes (well, Jason helped unload and I "helped" by holding the doors open for everyone), we had a yummy dinner in the Plaza with my dad and stepmom. We headed back to Wichita that night, so it was a fast trip!
My long-time friend, Emily, came to visit me on Monday. She works for a bank so was fortunate enough to have the day off too! We went shopping and had a great time! It was so good to see her. We have been close friends since 1st grade!
Well, that's our whirlwind of a weekend! I honestly don't think we could've packed anything else into these few days. This next weekend will be fun-filled too...we are heading to Enid to celebrate my great-uncle's 90th birthday!
