Father's Day 2011

We celebrated Jason's first Father's Day this year!  It was a special one...I think Jason would agree!  We ended up celebrating on Friday night because Jason has to work on Sundays.  I had to be in Enid on Saturday for a baby shower.  We started the evening off by giving Jason his gifts.  Ian's gift to his daddy was a photo book containing pictures of the two of them.  It was really sweet!

Ian gave his daddy a card...complete with a special "kiss!" :)

 Daddy loved his card

And...he loves his book!

Jason got a card and a gift from me also...a Kindle!  I'm so proud of the type of father that Jason is to our son!

After gifts, we went to eat dinner at Palmer's Grill (a new restaurant in Wichita), then headed to Yogurt Explosion for some dessert.  Yum!

Ian loves the spoons at the yogurt places...they are always bright colors. :)

Since Jason had to work on Sunday, Ian and I ended up staying in Enid for the full weekend with MY dad.  We went to breakfast on Sunday morning with my dad and grandpa.

My dad and I...such an incredible man!

We had such a good weekend!  On Monday night (the day after Father's Day), we headed to Norman in preparation for our trip to NYC (Ian stayed with Jason's parents).  That night, we took Jason's dad out for dinner to celebrate Father's Day.  Unfortunately, I didn't remember to take pics.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL FATHERS IN MY LIFE - MY DAD, MY STEPFATHER, MY GRANDPA, AND MY HUSBAND!  YOU ARE ALL LOVED DEEPLY!  MOST IMPORTANTLY...MY HEAVENLY FATHER!!

Lately...

Lately, we haven't had a whole lot going on...which is actually nice for a change!  My mom came into town to visit last week, and we went out for dinner and dessert.  We hit up a new self-serve yogurt place...Peachwave!  It seems like these places are popping up everywhere!  We enjoyed our frosty desserts outside.  Ian had a great time playing with the colorful spoons (we still have them in the car and he plays with them in his car seat).
I couldn't help but notice this little curl!  I always thought we'd have a baby with blonde hair, blue eyes, and curly hair (my mom, brother, and Jason all have naturally curly hair).  As it turns out, Ian has brown hair, blue eyes, and straight hair...so I thought.  Maybe he'll get some curls after all!  (i hope so!)

Like I said...the spoons provided great entertainment!

Ian really likes drinking ice water out of our straws.  He always makes the funniest faces when he's getting a drink.  This day was no exception...

Finally, he is a master at pulling up now.  He pulls up in his crib, by the fireplace, by the couch, etc.  He's also pulling up in the bathtub.  It makes me nervous, but I'm right there by him and it's pretty cute!
Here is is getting ready to stand...

 Hehehe...such a cute water baby!

This pic cracks me up...he looks like he's thinking, "What kind of mischief can I get into next?"

Smiley boy!!

Next week is our trip to NYC!  I'm excited, but nervous.  Please pray for save travels, and peace about being away from Ian for the first time.  He'll be in great hands, but still...it's hard for mama!!

Memorial Day Weekend: Part 2

Sorry it's taken me so long to write "Part 2" of this post!  Geez!  Well, on Memorial Day (Monday), we went to Audrey's 3rd Birthday Party.  She is the daughter of my best friend and college roommate, Amber.  They live in Tulsa, and they had the party at a jump house place.  I crawled in one of the ball pit areas with Ian.  He wasn't a big fan of the bigger kids getting in and playing loud and crazy, but he thought the colored balls were pretty neat!
He wasn't so sure about laying in the ball pit at first...
Then, I was able to coax a smile out of him! (Kind of a strained smile!)

Amber's parents visited from Kentucky.  Here is her mom, Maggie, with Ian.

Here is Amber's husband, Kurtis, with Ian and their son, Lawson.  Lawson was born on August 19, 2010...he is exactly 5 weeks older than Ian.

After the party, we headed back to Amber and Kurtis' house to have lunch and play.  Here are Ian, Lawson, and Zane (Audrey and Lawson's cousin) playing on the playmat.

The gift we got for Audrey was a hit!  They are these cool little building blocks.  She was excited to get them open and start playing!

Ian found another swing!  He loved this one just as much as the first.  Thanks to Maggie for pushing him in the swing for a long time...he really enjoyed himself.

I love this picture of Lawson.  He is such a big boy...getting ready to drive by himself!!  Watch out!

We had such a great time in Tulsa over Memorial Day weekend. It was a quick trip, but it was packed with fun.  I'm so happy we got to see several of our friends and family.  Hope we can make it back again soon!
